WE PLAY KAHOOT IN CLASS OF SOCIAL SCIENCES (Friday, 14th February 2020).

We play Kahoot in our lessons of Social Studies, our students learn how to ask good questions and design pictures of Geography. I recently provided them with an opportunity to produce games in classroom of Social Sciences. There’s a lot to like about Kahoot: it’s free, capable of working on tablets, smartphones, and computers, and (as your students will surely agree), it’s a super engaging, user-friendly way to check for understanding. Used it in classroom!

(Jorge is playing Kahoot with his classmates of Geography
about Natural Environments in Spain and Castilla-La Mancha. Good job!)

Another experiment about Pi

Today in 4ESO we have experienced how to calculate pi weighting.
The idea is to calculate the ratio between the volume(weight) of a cylinder and a prism which share the height and knowing that the base of the cylinder is inscribed in the square base of the prism.
Students of 1st course prepared the material, you can see photos below.

But we found a problem, the cardboard is not rigid enough, thanks to our French partner we have plastic models made in a 3D printer, using those models we have very accurate results for pi such as 3.13, 3,08 and 3,15.

It has been a lovely experience of collaboration between two different levels , subjects (technology and mathematics) and teachers. We will repeat soon!!!

Second Erasmus + mobility (Rétimo)

Last week the second mobility of the Erasmus+project "Maths is around us" ocurred. We went to Rethymno between January 26th and 31st, the topic in this ocasion was Mathematics and Arts.
Students have developed part of the activities in their countries and shared them in twinspace, for instance Spanish students share photos of symmetrical objects and work tesellations and fractal with Geogebra.
In Rethymno we worked in several workshops such as camera obscura,  t-shirts with our tesellations, receive information about symmetry (Romanian team prepared that) and went for a mathematical walk.
We also visited three museums, Knossos palace and learn more about Greek culture.
It was a great experience!!!!
Next meeting is in Hellín, we are eager to receive our partners.
